The Sworn Protector Controller, one of the latest additions to PowerA’s line of Zelda-themed controllers, is set to release on April 30, optimized for use with the upcoming and highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The wireless Sword Protector controllers will be available for $45 on Amazon.
Design-wise, the controller features an off-white and blue color scheme, with a red Hylian crest and links to the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. The Sworn Protector controller design is officially licensed by Nintendo and comes with two extra programmable buttons on the backside of the device.
The Sworn Protector doesn’t come with rumble or Amiibo, gyro, or IR functionality that is present on a standard Switch Pro controller, but the Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity means it can be connected to PC and mobile devices as well. The controller has a battery life of up to 30 hours on a single charge.
While PowerA offers several other Zelda-themed controllers, including the Breath of the Wild, Skyward Sword, and original Legend of Zelda on NES-themed wired options, they have been hard to find in stock lately. Zelda fans who want to add the Sworn Protector to their collection should snag this new model quickly.
Additionally, preordering the new Tears of the Kingdom controller itself may prove difficult, as it was released with only a limited quantity available. Zelda fans can also preorder the special-edition Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED with Zelda-themed Joy-Con controllers.
