The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is generating a lot of buzz as it prepares for launch on May 12, 2023. Zelda fans everywhere are eagerly awaiting the sequel, but some Steam Deck owners are wondering if they’ll be able to play it on their handheld PC.
For those unfamiliar, Steam Deck is Valve’s portable device that lets players take a gaming PC with them wherever they go. While it doesn’t offer the highest graphical quality, Steam Deck owners have access to many popular games.
However, it’s a well-known fact that Nintendo games are almost never available on anything besides their own systems. As such, The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive title, and playing it on Steam Deck will not be possible.
While some Steam Deck owners may suggest using Windows 10 emulation, this is illegal since it violates the rules set by Nintendo. So, if you want to play The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll have to purchase it at full price and play it on a Nintendo Switch console.
