Valve releases Proton 8.0, adding support for 18 new games and improving multi-touch support

Valve has released Proton 8.0, an update to its software that allows Windows games to run on Linux. This update includes support for 18 new games, as well as significant improvements in multi-touch support, which will help make gaming on Linux-based operating systems even more accessible. Proton is open-source software that is not only a key feature of Valve’s forthcoming Steam Deck but can also be used on a wide range of PCs running Linux-based operating systems. However, it does require a GPU with support for the Vulkan 1.3 graphics driver. The latest version of Proton is available from Valve’s GitHub page.
